• Vaporization
The method is based on herbal inhaling : it consists in heating medicinal herbs at temperatures between 190° and 200° Celsius or 340° and 360°Fahrenheit, which is just below combustion level at 230°C or 448°F. At this temperature, herbal oils and their active principles are vaporized without burning the plant so as to avoid the inhaling of tar and carbon monoxide produced by herbal combustion.
The vapour is gentle and smooth with green and floral aromas. The vaporizer is particularly efficient when used with resinous plants like thyme, lavander, sage, eucalyptus, pine, lemon balm, mint…
Vaporizers first appeared in the 1970’s. Since then, swarms of fancier and flashier models have invaded the market but little progress has actually been made in terms of efficiency.
The most important factor is the plant heating system. The only really efficient vaporizer uses convection in which hot air is pulsed through the plant.
• How the injector works
The “Herborizer” has an exclusive convection system which uses rotating heat. When inhaled ( softly), air enters the injector. It is captured and compressed within the heated sides of the convector. This produces a mild explosion which fuels a swirling of hot air around the plant. Thanks to this process, inhaling is soft and profound, avoiding the trichromatic elements of the plant.
• A multi-use system
The “Herborizer” vaporizing system and its parts are equipped with 18.8mm joints; they are interchangeable to all different parts. We also propose 14.5mm joints so that you may vaporize your plants with your gong or glass pipe; our joints adapt to every make of glass gong.
• A quality product
Glass is a neutral material which doesn’t alter the taste of the plant; It is hygienic, easy to clean and its transparence allows you to observe the whole process of inhalation.
The “Herborizer” is entirely made of PYREX ( borosilicate glass) which is widely used for laboratory apparatus because it is shockproof and heat resistant.
All the glass parts of the “Herborizer” are mouthblown by experienced mouthblowers working with a blowtorch and specialized in laboratory glassware.
• The heating element
We use a heating element made of high-tensile surgical steel. A great advantage is its low consumption which makes it possible for you to use the “Herborizer” on a battery or a 12-volt solar panel.
The nickel chrome filament of the heating element is compressed inside a ceramic-lined airproof and waterproof surgical steel capsule. As a result, the air is never in direct contact with the filament.
The lifespan of our heating element is estimated at more than 10 years for daily use.
• Water filtering
Our “TUBE AND SPHERE” vaporizer has been designed to add water inside the body .
Thanks to the water, any plant particles or trichromas drawn through the grid by the heat, are filtered.
Fresh water also contributes to cooling the vapour. In the “TUBE” model, water can be replaced by ice cubes for even more efficient cooling.
• The temperature variator
The standard models are designed to function at a constant temperature, considered as globally ideal for the most commonly-used resinous plants.
However, the “XL” model is equipped with a temperature variator which allows you to control the temperature of vaporization if you wish to use more or less resinous plants; resin or even pure herb oil.
• Guarantee
The whole electrical system of the “Herborizer” is guaranteed for one year. After this time, we continue to ensure a quick, quality after-sales service for all repairs, cleaning and spare parts.
